  • For the syrup: 125ml pomegranate juice with no added sugar
  • For the syrup: 30ml water
  • For the syrup: 1 heaped tablespoon of Bonne Maman orange jam
  • For the syrup: Star anise
  • For one 27 cl cocktail glass: 30 ml orange juice
  • For one 10 oz cocktail glass: 1 oz lemon juice
  • For one 27 cl cocktail glass: 150 ml of pomegranate juice with no added sugar
  • For one 27 cl cocktail glass: 60 ml water
  • For one 27 cl cocktail glass: 4 to 5 ice cubes
  • For one 27 cl cocktail glass: 6 teaspoons of syrup
  • For decoration: white sugar
  • For decoration: cinnamon stick
  • For decoration: star anise
  • For decoration: orange

Steps

  1. Bring the maple syrup, pomegranate juice, and water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the Bonne Maman orange jam and stir. Add the star anise and allow the mixture to thicken until it has a syrupy consistency. Allow the mixture to cool.
  2. Squeeze an orange and a lemon and pour the fresh juice through a sieve to remove all the pulp.
  3. Mix 30 ml lemon juice, 30 ml orange juice, 150 ml pomegranate juice, 60 ml water, and 6 teaspoons syrup in a shaker or other container.
  4. Rub a citrus fruit around the rim of the glass before dipping it in the white sugar.
  5. Put at least 4 ice cubes in the glass and pour in the cocktail.
  6. Garnish your cocktail with a slice of orange, a cinnamon stick, and star anise.
Tips:

- If the syrup thickens too quickly, add a little water.
- Ice cubes play a key role. They add freshness, but also subtly dilute the deliberately concentrated cocktail and bring out its full flavor.
- White sugar on the rim of the glass adds a decorative touch to your cocktail, but also a very sweet taste with every sip.
