
The story of Bonne Maman begins in Biars-sur-Cère, a village nestled between the Cère and the Dordogne rivers, in the heart of a generous land renowned for its orchards and fruit trees. It was there that Jean Gervoson made the very first jams, using ripe fruit and sugar—just like at home. Over the years, this laid the foundation for a true expertise, perfected with time.

For his jams, Jean Gervoson chose the name “Bonne Maman,” the affectionate nickname given to grandmothers in the family. A warm and tender name, perfect for jams as generous as if they had been prepared by a mother for her children. It was Suzanne, Jean’s wife, who penned the name on the first jars, already topped with their iconic gingham lids.
Since that day, Bonne Maman has always been there—at breakfast, during family snacks, to accompany a sweet break or add the finishing touch to a dessert. Like an invitation to take time for yourself: dip into the jar, chat, laugh, remember…
Over time, the Bonne Maman range has expanded: biscuits and pastries, compotes, yogurts, spreads, desserts… Always with the same philosophy: simple recipes made with quality ingredients, prepared with care, to delight those we love. The next best thing to homemade!
