Christmas Linz tart with strawberry jam and Christmas spices
- 400g flour
- 100g whole hazelnut powder
- 70g brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons speculoos spice mix
- 2 pinches of salt
- 250g butter at room temperature
- 70g water
- 1 jar of Bonne Maman Strawberry Jam
- 1 egg yolk
Steps
- Mix together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, ground hazelnuts, spices, and salt. Then add the butter in small pieces. Rub the mixture together well with your fingertips, then add the water.
- Form a ball. Let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Cut the pie crust in half, 1/3 on one side and 2/3 on the other. Roll out both pieces of dough with a rolling pin. Place the larger piece in a pie pan. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork and spread Bonne Maman strawberry jam on top.
- Cut the second pie crust into strips about 1 cm wide. Form a lattice pattern as shown in the video. Place strips on top and bottom until you achieve the desired look.
- Brush them with egg yolk.
- Bake in a hot oven for 40 minutes at 350°F. Then let cool.
