Steps
-
Shape your animals using air-dry clay. You can start with simplified shapes: an oval for the body (place it on a table so it has a flat base) and a rounded triangle for the head. Then pinch the clay to form two ears and attach the head to the body.
-
Model details like the paws or tail so the animal can hold a small empty Bonne Maman jar. For example, the fox can hold the jar with its tail, or the rabbit with its paws.
-
Using a small pointy tool (knife, toothpick, fork…), draw the facial features. Then let dry for 24–48 hours (or follow the instructions on the clay package).
-
You can leave your animals as they are or paint them with gouache or acrylic paint.gouache ou de l’acrylique.
-
Create mini bouquets with holly and fir branches to decorate the Bonne Maman jars. Add a few stars and tiny Christmas ornaments.
-
On small pieces of paper (or directly on sticky labels), draw a red frame and write your guests’ names in gold, as shown in the video. Stick the papers onto the Bonne Maman jars and arrange your animal place-card holders on the table.
